Our constraint was to fit in 2 CDs, as a consequence we had to choose some
packages that will only be present in FTP repositories. Afterstep was one of
them, as well as the aspell dictionnaries, some devel packages, and various.
It may have been a mistake, but understand that we could not afford maitaining
all the packages of the world and that we have to make choices. We have a lot
of window managers, and you must recognize that Aftersptep is less and less
used, replaced by windowmaker, icewm or more recent ones.
