I dunno how fast is your connection. And also have not digged into what
info an hdlist.gz carries.
But MandrakeUpdate-rpmdrake is unusable for me. Cooker changes daily.
I have a cable connection. So it would be easy for me to launch the OLD
MandrakeUpdate, let it download about 140Kb of listing, and just check versions
based on package names. If I just want to know about the changelog of a
package, ask for it and dload another couple Kb.
But now, each time I launch rpmdrake I have to download 8-9Mb of info just
to check for new packages. I usually get bored. I just think: 'why do I have
to wait for this, if I will have to repeat it tomorrow' ?.
So just use gftp and order packages in reverse date.
Is there any way to revert MandrakeUpdate to the old behaviour ?
There must be something I have not found, because I have not heard anybody
claim about the 8Mb download...
