I had the same problems and I've set the configurrations file manually:

/etc/sysconfig/mouse:
MOUSETYPE=ps/2
XMOUSETYPE=IMPS/2
FULLNAME="USB|Wheel"
XEMU3=no
WHEEL=yes
device=usbmouse

and put a YES in /etc/sysconfig/usb next to MOUSE that makes mousedev
and usmouse to ne load at uptime..
