I understood that to mean pay (at least) $5/month.  If I were a gamer,
I would pay it to support their effort.

It was trivial to compile.  I got C&C Tiberian Sun mostly working on
it.  StarCraft is supposed to work very well on it.

It blows my mind -- not only Windows compatibility (i.e. emulating all
of the DLLs) but DirectX too!
