I mean that in my earlier mail I had reported that hd.img wanted to install 
kernel -9 although the image contained -10, so I had to reconfigure hdlist &c.

My mistake, I only mirror cooker not contrib.

I think you will have to check for kernel version in cdrom.img, to get an 
answer to that.
