in 2.5 will be a serial rewrite, we could possible get an smaller
module _if there is no_ support for all the strange serial cards
around the world (i.e. only support for the serial port included in
pcs).  But that is a post 8.2 thing (i.e. it needs a lot of testing
and is quite work).

I don't understand what do you ask here.  You only need to put in your
kernel command line:
console=tty0 console=ttyS0,9600

that will make the messages going _both_ to the serial console and to
the normal console.
