Ok, final results on the Compaq SCSI RAID card.  I was able to
successfully reboot.  The procedure was to do a normal install without
passing any options at lilo.  After the install completes, I rebooted
with 'devfs=nomount' and it worked just fine, even LVM.  I rebooted
twice more to test some things.  If I allow devfs to mount, then it dies
because /dev/ida/c0d0* don't exist.  If I pass devfs=nomount, it works
properly.  I'm available to do any tests that are necessary, but not
until Friday.
