RC1 still does not fix the problem I reported earlier about the failure to
install the driver for the Philips PCVC680k webcam. This must be a difficult
bug to fix.

With Mandrake 8.2 RC1 /var/log/messages reports:
Mar 12 17:03:59 kjohn kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x471/0x308) is
not claimed by any active driver.Mar 12 17:03:59 kjohn kernel:

Mar 12 17:03:59 kjohn kernel: usb.c: error getting string descriptor 0
(error=-6)

With Mandrake 8.2 RC1 the Philips webcam driver does exist:
file:/lib/modules/2.4.18-4mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/pwc.o.gz

Also, with Mandrake 8.2 RC1, DrakConf's HardDrake does detect the
Philips PCVC680k WebCam.

Please let me know if I can provide additional information to help locate
the bug.
