Hi!

If samba is not running, logrotate causes the following message:

nmbd: no process killed
error running postrotate script
smbd: no process killed
error running postrotate script
run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1

logrotate should probably use something like /etc/init.d/smb condrestart 
to send the signals to the daemons... (imho all stuff which uses logrotate 
should...)
