Actually he did not _want_ to do it; he was _forced_ to do it. It is old
more or less often discussed problem of choosing /usr to put changed
data (dynamically generated menus - apps-mdk, kdm configuration, what
else ...)

Sure the suggestion to mount /usr/share as rw may be workaround, but my
point was (sorry if it was not clear) that you should not need such
workaround.

Several times it was hinted that file system usage may change in 9.0.
May be this problem is finally solved as well.
