Because, they try to run it with an argument, such as
xsane snapscan:/dev/sg?

Which works for xsane, but doesn't work for Gimp, Kooka, saned etc which
scan devices at startup.

Please can this be fixed????

And, the adding of the backend to /etc/sane.d/dll.conf?

Then, maybe on the next release we can try and get saned to work out the
box also (this is a killer application of sane, use it to share a
scanner out to all windows and linux machines).
