If I start Xine as user (before the root has used it at least once), the selected audio driver is OSS with no option to change. If I then start as root, ALSA is selected (as I want to, having chosen the xine-alsa plugin at installation). Log back on as user, still OSS. Delete /home/.../.xine folder and restart Xine, I ALSA is offered.
Sound works with both, so I'm just curious as to why that may have happened. /Norman
