Hi !

I run Mandrake Linux Cooker-i586 20030114 22:48 on my IBM ThinkPad 600.

All runs fine, except that i have no umlaut symbols on my tty consoles after I start
the
pcmcia service (under X they are shown correctly).

when I start the system without the pcmcia service and I have all umlaut symbols.

during the pcmcia service starts this is written to the syslog:

Jan 16 18:57:13 notebook /etc/hotplug/pci.agent: ... can't load module uhci

Jan 16 18:57:18 notebook kernel: eth0: Setting full-duplex based on MII#0 link partner
capability of 45e1.

As u can see hotplug loads the neofb module and switching the console to colour frame
buffer with the result that i have no umlaut symbols anymore.

How can I configure hotplug to prevent loading the neofb, cause its also slowing down
the whole text output.
