Chocolate Fudge

 

2 squares unsweetened chocolate broken into pieces

1 Tbsp. Butter or margarine

3 cups sugar

ΒΌ Tsp. Cream of tartar

dash of salt

1 Tsp. Vanilla

1 cup chopped nuts

 

Method

 

1. Place chocolate, butter and sugar mixed with cream of tartar, and milk 

in a large saucepan.

2. Stir constantly until chocolate and butter are melted.

3. Then stir frequently until a soft ball forms in cold water.

4. Pour mixture into unbuttered 13 inch by 9 inch by 2 inch pan.

5. As soon as mixture is cool enough to handle, add the salt and vanilla.

6. Knead mixture with the hands for about 3 minutes.

7. Nuts may be added at this point.

8. Place mixture into a buttered 9 inch pan.

9. When cool cut into squares.
