If one can cook, one can manage on their own. We can decide what or what we aren't going to eat, healthy or junk. Where if you buy fast food or prepared food, there is no way to know exactly what or what you aren't eating. For labeling in this country stinks. Look, at prepare food, they have more ways to cover the sugar contents in their food by naming sugar with more names and I can count. Plus the label has things I couldn't pronounce if I had another life time to practice.

Subject: [CnD] OT: General question about cooking and visual impairment

Dear list,

I am currently taking classes to become a TVI and have a project
involving cooking.

I would like to ask you guys about why you feel it is an important
skill for a blind/visually impaired student (or adult) to know how to
cook and other kitchen skills.

Thanks
Denise
