I do it the really really lazy way. I keep the brine of a jar of pickles, and if I want it a tad spicy, I put in a few tablespoons of the juice from a jar of sliced jalapeno peppers. then put in your hard-boiled eggs; you can also do this with sliced, boiled hot dogs. anyway, using the brine this way, you can only use it twice, then discard, and use from another newly-purchased jar of pickles. I prefer doing it with the brine of sweet pickles. Sandy
