For the person who asked how one knows when something is cooked, with
both vision and hearing impairment, the best way is to use a method of
time. You  need to determine how long and at what temperature the item
(chicken, beef, etc.) takes and you can pretty much be assured that if
you cook at the designated temperature at a specific amount of tiem it
will be done. For ex. Chicken baking at 350 will be done in 45
minutes-no doubt. 

On the George Foremand you can determine how long everything takes-when
I make bacon on it I cook for 5 minutes
