Hello.

Avoid fried food; eat lean meats and low-fat
Products. Avoid foods that cause bloating and gas, and don't eat too much.

I had my gallbladder removed in 2017. You can live a long time without
One. I had the open surgery with the
Scar, and yes, there is pain after surgery,
As the incision is the second most painful one they do in hospitals.
I had to take Percocet for a few days after surgery. I eased off
The med on my own when I no longer needed it.

A small pillow helps ease the discomfort when you are sitting up.
Don't lift anything for a few weeks after surgery.
Take it easy for a while. You will be good as new.
If they use staples at the hospital, they remove them ten days later
At the doctor's office. One of the staples might poke you from time to time
while it is in.
Oh, you can sit in a chair or lie down when the staples are taken out.
That was something. I was glad when they were
Gone, because the third staple poked me from time to time.
I was in hospital for five days, went in on a Wednesday and
Went home on Sunday. People from my church
Helped me by bringing food and cleaning my place.
I was grateful for that. The ladies auxiliary helps members who need
short-term care at home.

And, you will feel much better, better than you
Have in a long time.

Best wishes,
Marie

Subject: [CnD] what to eat before and after gallbladder removal

Hi,
My husband Hank is going to have his gallbladder removed. At the present eating
or drinking anything hurts on a scale of 8-10. What dishes does anyone on the
list prepare that you enjoy. Especially afterwards. What have you had to avoid?
Thanks.
