Not correct. The driver is fine. The problem is somewhere in the opengl/mesa stack. And it is triggered specifically by something in coot, since other programs don't hit it. I haven't yet reached the point of desperation since my affected machines are either (1) non-essential or (2) fast enough so that a 10X hit in rotation speed is only at the level of incredibly annoying rather than unusable. But I may get there soon enough if I need to do much cooting on my laptop. Rather than killing labels altogether, I think it would suffice to draw the labels only every 10th frame. That's still a hack, though. It should be possible to revise the label drawing so that the problem doesn't trigger in the first place. Ethan > My Linux boxes work great with any GeForce card.
