It's nothing to do with Coot binaries and everything to do with the graphics
drivers.

If it's the font that's the issue, I think that (after discussion with Marcin) I had a work-around once, but it seems to have been dropped. Maybe I can find it and conditionally compile it for Debian.

Dear Phong,

my builds of Coot for Debian have not succeeded for quite some time now, and
they used to be the ones available through Paul's web site.

I have been using coot as it is provided with CCP4 since. It works alright for
me.

Best,
Tim

Hello,
I'm using Coot-coot-0.8.7-binary-Linux-x86_64-debian-gnu-linux-8-python-gtk2
in Debian in my laptop (Intel® Core™ i3-2330M CPU @ 2.20GHz × 4; graphic
card Intel HD 3000; RAM 4GB). I'm using Debian 8.8 Jessie; Kernel: x86_64
Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64; Shell: bash 4.3.30; WM: GNOME Shell The program is
very slow on my computer in full screen. In small screen it is ok. However,
even in small screen it is very slow when I refine the Real Space refine
zone button. When I check how many frames per second it give me the results
300 frames per 5 second.

I also have wincoot-0.8 in Windows that installed on this laptop. The
wincoot works very well. Is there any suggestion to solve my problem?
Thank you,

Phong
