I expect the `internalName` method should do like this: public Optional<String> internalName() { if (!isClassOrInterface()) return Optional.empty(); return Optional.of(internalName); // it can be stored as a final field assigned during instantiation } What you are thinking is a method to return some string for any ClassDesc.
