src/java.base/share/classes/java/lang/runtime/SwitchBootstraps.java line 286:

Suggestion:

            if (constantsOnly)
                constantsOnly = 
EnumDesc.class.isAssignableFrom(convertedLabel.getClass());


`&=` does not short-circuit the `isAssignableFrom` evaluation.
