On behalf of my company, I am evaluating Hbase for use with a development project. The description of the capabilities seems promising, but I have been unable to set up a working Hbase environment and load data into it. If there are any "Hbase experts" reading this list who are interested in a short paid consulting engagement, please contact me off-list. Objectives are to successfully do the following: 1) Set up an hbase cluster of 1 or 2 machines 2) Loading our data into the system (without it crashing!) 3) Run some simple Map-Reduce jobs that "transform" that data.
