Marc,
I don't think that a paid engagement is really what you're looking
for at the moment. HBase is a relatively young project at the moment,
so there are bound to be various issues.
What would be most helpful is for you to describe the problems you
are having in detail, either here on the list, or in IRC in #hbase.
If you're having problems we haven't encountered yet, it's very
important for us to track them down and get solutions. If it's
something that we've already seen, we can help you work around it or
at least be aware of it.
Generally speaking, we are more than eager to help. Every new user of
HBase grows our community and exposes us to more testing, which we
sorely need.
If you are looking for help beyond what I've just described, please
come talk to me (bryanduxbury) in IRC so we can discuss your needs.

Firstly, if it is inappropriate to post this here, please accept my
apologies and let me know.
On behalf of my company, I am evaluating Hbase for use with a
development project. The description of the capabilities seems
promising, but I have been unable to set up a working Hbase
environment
and load data into it. If there are any "Hbase experts" reading this
list who are interested in a short paid consulting engagement, please
contact me off-list.
Objectives are to successfully do the following:
1) Set up an hbase cluster of 1 or 2 machines
2) Loading our data into the system (without it crashing!)
3) Run some simple Map-Reduce jobs that "transform" that data.
I am just a developer so I can't talk about financial terms etc.,
so if
you are interested I will ask the "business people" at my company to
contact you.
Thanks,
