Hi, Ewka,
I like people from Poland. I'm a Moravian Czech, living in on the border of the Czech part of Silesia, which is a region that both our countries seem to share. I understand Polish (watching TVP1, TVP2, Polsat etc. occasionally :)) very well and like the language, but I'm too shy to speak it. And writing it would be a disaster, I guess, as I'm not sure about the orthography at all. :) It was funny to learn that you consider Czech funny - a hissing, husshing - tongue, which is just the same we tend to think about Polish! :) What I love in Polish are the nasals - words like wyjontkowe - (sorry, I haven't got nasal /a/ on my keyboard) and the penultimate stress (which we also have here in Moravian Silesia). Just...great :).
As for the links, they're very good. I can recommend them, too.
I come from Fulnek, where three Czech dialects meet, which might have had an influence on my future. Now, I'm studying linguistics and phonetics in Prague and would like to run my own linguistics project on day. I love music, especially classics (from Baroque to modern contemporaries) and jazz (with all its plentiful varieties and sub-genres). When I was fifteen, I could decide between conservatoire (clarinet) and gymnasium (general education, science, languages). I chose gymnasium and do not regret much, although music has stayed one of my greatest passions. I'm playing the saxophone in two bands (one being jazz-rock, the other being hard to classify :)), play guitar or electric bass from time to time and love the drums...yeah, if I weren't a sax player, I'd like to be a drummer. A jazz drummer.
I also like animals and pets. We have 10 dogs at the moment (2 adults, 8 puppies - if anybody wants to see the photoes, I can send some). Dutch shepherds, cute. Well, I could give you a puppy if you come to Fulnek and take it for yourselves ;))).
That's all for now. I must work. But I'll be here to answer your questions occasionally. Have a nice day!
Best,
Pet'usek

Don't worry. The same was with me. Two answers and that's all. People always
are very enthusiastic at the beginning, but it doesn't persist for long
time. Are You polish, I think? Where do you live pecisely? Are You studying?
If yes, what is the subject?
I live in Pulawy, I finished my studies at the Warsaw University nearly two
years ago, after this I got married and together with my husband we went to
London, to learn and work. Nice time, but hard and sometimes difficult too.
We returned to Poland a year ago, got a job, rent a flat - life..
I send You some links which I use every day to learn English:
http://dictionary.cambridge.org/
http://portalwiedzy.onet.pl/tlumacz.html
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ao
d/radio4.shtml?listen
BBc is very good if you want to practise listening, the Radio 4 station has
a lot of talks, news, interviews, reading books... no music. And listening
this station you can find vary speakers, not only native, becouse this radio
is from London, where lives many foreigners.
My writting is weakest in my english skills so I apologize for mistakes :)
but in my case it is most difficult to find good method to practise it.
Best regards
I'm waiting for Your answer.
