Books have been a strong way for carrying information since very
beginning. Later the technology developed with different medias for
communication like television and radio. All these three medias have
been playing a crucial role in everyone's life. However, they all have
both the advantages and disadvantages.
Among these three medias as mentioned above, books have the longest
history. It was the merely one-way for communicating information
rather than other medias. For instance, if someone wants to find the
information about history of a great emperor, he needs to visit
library and search those relevant books. Although, these information
we can know from radio and television if they broadcast at the similar
time when we require it. We frequently are engage with our work and
cognizant of scheduled programs on radio or television stations. For
this, we almost miss it.
In addition, books are the perfect media to make notes on certain
topics. For instance, if people want to know about different species
of animals, it is quite easy to read books of animals
and gain plenty of knowledge. On the other hand, this information can
also be gained by watching television or listening to radio, but once
the information passed again it is not telecasted. Also, we understand
it hardly sometimes. Nevertheless, for books we can review it for
hundreds of times or later some other time as it depends on us.
One advantage from radio is, it is size less and can be put in pocket
and can be taken to anywhere like while driving a car and traveling in
bus. But it is quite impossible to carry books and especially
television set to other places. Besides, these days many jobholders
are seen with pocket-radio, even using it while doing their work. Take
me as an example; I always carry a pocket-radio particularly while
traveling, as I am unwilling to waste my time. Usually I listen to ABC
news and enjoy it extremely well. Though, the fact is that we are not
interested in reading books because it requires understanding skills.
Hence, I still consider books are the best media for communicating
information.
