Hello again Tony,

The LDS have filmed the Donacavey, Co. Tyrone TAB and are available to view at
a Family History Centre or affiliated library (only). The film no. is 258454

The TABs do not record genealogical details – occasionally indicating the name
of the landlord, but generally recording the acreage and quality of the
leasehold and the tithe payable.

Regards,

Len

Subject: Re: [CoTyroneMailingList] Irish Flax Growers, 1796 look-up

Thanks very much Len. I feared that that was the case. I have a 2005 photocopy
from failteromhat of Irish Flax Growers, 1796 that had on it “If you would like
to view all the records for a townland in one file “click here” This gave me
some hope about the townland information. The instruction no longer appears on
that website so that suggests that the earlier instruction may have been a
mistake.

I have tried unsuccessfully in the past to access the Ecclesville Estate
papers. It looks as if I must try again now.

I have found a John Slevin at Ardatiny in your index for the Tithe Applotment
Book of 1827 but I have not been able find a copy of the original entry to find
any more detail about him, who I suspect may have been the father of my Francis
Slevin who left Ireland in 1850. Is the full copy of the 1827 Donacavey Tithe
Applotment available on-line?

Thanks again for your help,

Tony O’Grady
Melbourne.
