Thank you Len and Jim for that clipping! That was a 'brick wall' breakthrough for our family. We've been searching for specific records relating to our 4x great grandfather, Francis Little, who came to PA with his family in 1792 from Tyrone. That's about as much as we knew. There he is in the clipping, an emigrant recruiting agent for the ship "General Washington" that apparently left Londonderry on June 1, 1792, or at 'first fair wind after.' Also, that he was from the area of Augher (SE of Omagh), something else we learned. Now, we hope to find a passenger list for that sailing to see if the family is listed... may turn up in some Pennsylvania records.
We are planning a family trip to that area next summer if anyone has any suggestions for such a visit. Hope to get to PRONI archives for a bit.
