Hello to all, I went to see my plane today and discuss what's going on with my engine He took the rear screen out of a plastic bag and it had what look like flakes of metal scattered around the screen not a lot but enough to get your attention.The screen did it's job there were no flakes in the filter as we could see.I had a magnet and used it to see if they were steel they were notThey were too big to pass through the screen yet small. The jugs are being analyzed by a very respected shop out here.A comment was made that perhaps the main bearings had turned and the material we are seeing is from the case.(is this nuts)I'll know better if the shop finds something on one suspect jug.The plane sure looks good even w/o the engineThere were no Sqwaks at all for the annual This could happen to anyone he said.Ya know I feel like the guy that took his car to the transmission shop to have the fluid changed and the guy comes back and says look what we found in your old oil I think we better have a look,he takes it apart and you say how much and the guy grins and says "it will cost your first born" you can't take it any where cause it's apart. Yes I could tell him stop and trailer it home and say *&^% it I'll get someone to come over and rebuild it in his spare time maybe that is what I'll do I just want to hear what the shop says first.It's a lousy place to be when you least expect it.Welcome to aviation!!
