This is not a political thing. This is "chickens coming home to roost."
Based on your email, you:
a. Knew you had to pay the sales tax
b. Decided not to in the hope you could get away with it.
c. know that every single business and businessperson in the country
regardless of political leanings would expect to be compensated for not
being paid for _2 years_.
Why on earth are you suprised and angry that you owe interest and
penalties?
"Democratic scheme to suck more taxes from us"...right.
