I need help from the 'Coupers, particularly those in the Great Lakes region. My offer was made and accepted for a great little 'Coupe located at the Kent State, OH airport (near Akron). I need to fly it back to its new home at Schaumburg Regional in suburban Chicago. In preparation, I need to get a proper checkout in an Ercoupe, seeing as how I've never flown one! Any ideas on how I can adequately prepare before jumping in and embarking on a 330 mile cross country? Anyone in the Chicago or Akron areas that can assist me in getting the plane home, or know of any Ercoupe-savvy instructors in either area (but preferably close to Kent State so I can check out in "my" aircraft)?
