    Just my opinion, but I would be very inclined to get some good 
grade
muffler cement and some muffler tape and do a patch job on the 
muffler.
If you've flown it to this stage, it's highly unlikely it will give 
any
trouble on one or two 15 minute flights once you've done a patch up on
it. Also I don't see why you couldn't have a new piece of stainless 
pipe
welded in to replace the worn out bit. Any welder worth his salt could
do this in about 1/2 hour. There really is no mystery to these
incredably expensive bits of exhaust. Good luck.
