Here is the story as told to me by deep throat in Precision. There is a Marvel carb certified for use on the C85. I recall it is the PN 4240 referred to in another e-mail. Marvel made one production run, and as far as they know, the only one left is the one on their flow bench. Anyhow, they're as rare as hen's teeth. David Lowe, of the International Cessna 120/140 Association, went through the process of obtaining an STC to modify other Marvel carbs for use on the C85. Precision will not supply the necessary parts unless you have the STC. At this time there is no other legal way to convert a Marvel carb for a C85. Anyone skilled in the art of the Stromberg can make one work just fine for a lot less. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
