They identified the pilot, the only person in the plane, as 56-year-old Jack E. McCall of Ozawkie, Kansas. The single-engine plane went down in a wooded area near the McAlester Municipal Airport. No one at the airport noticed the crash on Sunday afternoon. McAlester Municipal Airport is an uncontrolled airport, meaning pilots can take off and land when they please. A helicopter crew with the Oklahoma National Guard spotted the wreckage in the woods Monday.
