Tomorrow's the last day, Sports Fans.
Then that's it for another year. Though there were fewer actual
Ercoupes on the
field in Arlington, Washington, we had a heck of a good time at the EFG
(Ercoupe Fanciers Gathering). There were around twenty of us, from
California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.
By my reconing, the distance award went to Maynard (long-legs) Smith.
Andy
Pomoroy from Everett got the shortest. Whiner award went to yours truely
with
the wing that failed the punch test. Prettiest was Meg from the Flyer
newspaper.
This continues to be the premier event of the Northwest Flying Season.
We
have even outlived the place we go! They used to be called Porky's and
was a
"biker bar." It is now called The Stump, and bills itself as a family
grille. Food
was good by me = had the top sirloin for $9.95. I'm open for a motion
that we
to there next year.
Weather was super = no rain! There was a nip in the air when the sun
didn't
shine and the wind kicked up. Nothing your standard issue NW plaid
flannel
shirt couldn't handle.
My thanks to all those who attended. I had fun, and feel the others
who
came out did also.
