Before you get the idea that my Alon is up for grabs, It is NOT my physical that has been lost! For the last two years I have been helping a dear friend build a RV-6A. This is his third homebuilt and he is an exceptional craftsman. He is also a retired 747 driver. He never hauled for the airlines, he always flew cargo. There is not a country in the world he has flown into. He failed his physical on "high blood pressure". Several years ago the FAA decided, WITHOUT CAUSE, to lower the blood pressure requirements for ALL pilots licenses. This means private pilots have to meet the same requirements as an ATP! Harvey believes this lower standard was suggested and supported by the airlines. Why? The answer is simple. This would remove many high-paid, senior pilots who could be replaced by newbies, saving the airlines BIG $$$$. It is a cruel world, especially in BIG business where the $$$$ is KING! So be it. My squak is that PRIVATE PILOTS have to meet the same physical requirements as an airline pilot. Is there any way that this can be changed? I am getting close at 145/90, so my concerns are there as well.
