Lellie, I've had some thoughts along the same lines myself. No one of us will ever know for sure exactly what happened but there certainly are plenty of hints. And personally, I suspect that he was getting undue pressure from his wife and his sister-in-law, without them truly realizing what they were asking. I think the accident was the culmination of the stack of dominoes going down. Perhaps one or two of the dominoes stacked against him would of been OK, but when there's a whole line of them and they start to fall... I keep thinking about the term PIC. Pilot IN CHARGE. It is up to her/him to make the decisions, even if that is unpopular with everybody else. Part of my theory is that John's desire to be "nice" got him killed. It's very sad. OK, so I'm just a student, but I'm not stupid and I do understand human behavior pretty well. I do understand the urge to be accomodating to others, especially siginificant others. But there is a time and place for that. Not ot make light of this tragic accident but to add some humor to the PIC thing, I'd like to quote what Martha King says in one of the training videos. "As Pilot In Charge, you have to learn to say NO! to your passengers. No, you cannot take your 200lb wood burning stove in the plane with you." :-) Spook On Wed, 25 Jul 2001, N161LH 3B9 wrote: > ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- > > Believe me, Dick, I am about the last person in the world to defend the > Kennedys.
