John; I had pretty good luck with Aircraft Quality Instruments in Wichita. 316-942-9933. I refitted the panel on a '46 model with the new style gyros. As I recall, there is about 7 inches clearance between the panel and the bulkhead in back of the fuselage tank. If you have the later, 6 gallon, fuselage tank that mounts to the rear of the bulkhead, you may not have quite as much room. I told the people at Aircraft Quality Instruments that I needed gyros that would fit in that small of a space (including the fittings) and they rose to the challenge. However, you may find you have a different problem if you are driving the gyros with a venturi. I had installed an O-200 which had a vacuum pump, so vacuum and air volume was not a problem. Make sure you tell the instrument shop you need to drive the gyros with a venturi(s).
