Dick, if you have two planes you really should look at dropping Avemco! The reason is that they really give NO breaks for having two planes. I think it's like a 10% discount. With AIG I see more like 75% discount on the second plane! When I went to insure N99387 while still carrying N2906H, Avemco came in and was all set to basically double my insurance costs. AIG said, 'cool, second plane, you're not likely to fly both at once (though you can have someone else fly the other at the same time, if you like).' A couple hundred dollars per year, some of which was accounted for by the higher agreed-value, of '387 and I was covered. And I pay less than $800 for the first plane, on a million dollar policy with all the hull coverage, riders, bells, whistles and endorsements. I'm not a high-time pilot, and when my currency was better and time-in-type better the second year, AIG slashed my premium by 20% or more. Every time I've been quoted by Avemco, it's been a sort of 'you gotta be kidding!' proposition.
