Hi John,
The problem that most of us have with this is that all brokers are not as
smart as the better ones and if we call a dumb one first and then someone
tells us about a smarter one who is more interested in trying to match the
policy to our needs then we are not able to get the benefit of the better
service. It is a real problem as most of us do not have any real good way
to pick our agent or broker.

This is not quite accurate. There are a limited number of underwriters
out
there who will underwrite aircraft insurance. They are the ones who will
not
issue more than one quote for the same aircraft. And that makes sense,
doesn't it?
