Just thought you might like to know:
When you need a cup seal for M.L.G. real quick, just go down to Advance
Auto
Parts and ask for 1961 Chevy wheel cylinder rebuild kit ( one and one
eighth
inch ) ( TRU-TORQUE Item # 13620. ) The kit contains (2) cup seals without

the hole. The hole can be burned through with a red hot one fourth inch
pointed iron rod. Strive for a well centered hole. Cost for kit is 4.00
dollars + or - . No great saving on the item, but you get two for the
price
of one and avoid the minimum $ 15.00 order + shipping and handling, and
you
save a few days time. No need to try to reassemble the strut with the
seal
that came out no matter how good it looks, it has expanded ( or swollen )
too much, or that was my experience. Always use D.O.T. 3 brake fluid to
refill the strut. I hear some people use 80 weight gear oil O.K.? I ran
into this situation when I dis-assebeled cylinder to lubricate the insides

of donuts and outside of cylinder as required at 300-500 hrs.
