Seems far too many people are will to surrender freedom as long as it
doesn't directly effect
them.

I overheard a co-worker mention to another co-worker that GA was still
grounded. So went
over and said that some pilots were upset about this. "Why?" he asked. It
seemed reasonable
to him. So I explained the argument. He said he understood, and my points
were valid, but it
would not change his opinion. If private planes couldn't fly, it was no
skin off his nose. (He
doesn't fly)

Put these together with those who are active in trying to get certain
activities outlawed,
(like hunting or auto racing) and you have enough people to really cut
into our liberty.

I can't imagine getting much sympathy from the people living near G.A.
airports who complain about noise--or from the developers who lust
after the property--or from the airlines who consider us dangerous
distractions.
The Drug Enforcement Agency would certainly not fight for continued G.A.

Civil rights??? Ask those Americans of Japanese descent who were living
in the U.S in 1941 about civil rights.

I sure hope I'm a terrible pessimist.
