Bob, are those of us who did not serve in the military, less of an American than you are? I'm not a draft dodger, and in no way did I try and get out of the military. When I was of age, Viet Nam was grinding down. I had a high lottery number, and didn't get drafted. Should I have ran down to the local DB and signed up, just so you could view me as a real American? I know the difference between right and wrong. I currently belong to the Coast Guard Auxiliary. I even have a military ID card. I was up to Hill AFB Saturday to purchase uniforms (at my own expense). I'm not afraid of service to my fellow man. I rode Harley Davidsons! I'm as American as they come. I'd be offended if other folks looked down their noses at me just because I didn't serve in the military. And, I'd be highly disappointed to be denied public office for the same reason.
