I think the thing we need to be asking our Senators and Congressmen is why
we are not as good and patriotic as the good citizens of the Great State
of
Alaska. Could it be that they are better, more patriotic and more loyal to
the USA than the rest of us? Or is it that their Senator Stevens has a lot
of pull and he just said no way my people have to fly because they need
to.

If it is good for one citizen then it should be good for all!!

I also think that all of official Washington needs to have a refresher
course in basic physics. The potential damage that a 1400 pound aircraft
with only 20 gallons of fuel can do to a building is less than the average
large truck that can weigh over 40,000 pounds. It is true that we can hit
the target twice as fast and velocity will play a part in the equation but
the mass of 40,000 pounds will drive the truck right through most
buildings. In the past we have seen examples of light aircraft crashing
into buildings (by accident) and the results are not good but usually the
structure is still there and if the local fire department is good the
resulting fire is brought under control quickly with only limited damage.

If we are a big threat then lets start a ban the truck movement after all
it was a big truck in OKC.

Have a good day and please go polish your coupe and try to find a way to
help the local FBO or Flight School where you are survive. Perhaps you can
do a biannual flight review on an IFR flight plan that will add a few
dollars to the till and show the Washington world that we will not give
up.

Best regards,
Vern
