I would define it in my own favor. Since you're PIC (or can be) when
flying
with a CFI in a plane for which you're rated, that isn't 'training.'
That's
having
a friend along to provide assistance and company.

You could go fly with a friend who's a CFI. The BFR was done a week ago
Monday, right? RIGHT? Nod your head and say 'right.' That's what the
notation
in the back of the log book says, right? And the CFI found 50 or a
hundred bucks in cash on the floor of the airplane when he got in it
today.
RIGHT? Nod vigorously. Yep.

That student should go fly with a friend who is a CFI, too.

And you know what? I bet if he or she REALLY looks at that XC time,
he or she ACTUALLY spent .3 more hours taxiing on one of those
XC flights he or she has done already. He or she really should correct
the error in his or her logbook. Lots of students forget to log their
on-the-ground time. Especially if they go by Tach time, cuz the tach
doesn't really show clock time. Even so, he or she may just have
mis-read that Hobbs meter.

The real question is... ...is the check-ride considered 'flight training?'

And you're not even from Arkansas (sorry, couldn't resist).
