Mike,
The bees pollinate the blossoms in the Spring then they leave. They
don't hang around until the berries are
ripe.
I went out this morning and picked a couple of handfulls to put over
my cold cereal, they will probably be gone
in a couple of weeks as the big juicy ones are nearly gone now and it's
starting to cool off so the little ones had
better grow fast or they won't be worth much until next summer.
I have some in my freezer but they just aren't the same as freshly
picked ones. Mmmm, they sure are good over
ice cream in the middle of the winter though.
