Absolutely yes!

I just finished painting my wings and stabilizer, and you need a large fan
pattern that can cover an area of about 12-18 inches with good volume.
Otherwise, when you stand back and look at it you will have zebra stripes
that show through each layer. The same thing happens when you try to paint
a large surface with a touchup gun- it's spray pattern is too small.
