First, I want to thank those of you who responded to my call for help regarding the oil leak in my C-85. The several pieces of advice have been handed to my AP/IA for review and application. I am very hopeful that a "fix" will result therefrom. It also appears that another "fix" is vitallly necessary: i.e., a "fix" to the possible disintregation of the COUPERS list itself because my request for assistance seems to have precipitated a latent flood of discontent and outright animosity culminating in resignations, name-calling and worse. I am reminded of the words of that ancient Grecian sage "XXXXX" ( or something like that) who reportedly said ".... life is too important to be taken seriously...." I'm sure that countless other philosophers have voiced equally thought-provoking admonitions in parallel situations to the one which the COUPERS list now faces. Really gentlemen, does the insertion of a little humor into serious business so detract from the main purpose of an excellent medium for information  as to make it unacceptable? I would certainly hope such is not the case and that those who are now contemplating a couse of separation rather than accomodation will think again. Is it really necessary to destroy the messenger simply because the message may at times be unpalatable? Please....please let the advent of a new century also witness the continuation of the COUPERS list as it has been for a long time .... a wonderfuk way for guys to help each other technically while still recognizing that a laugh or two does no harm. Your's for a happy and friendly  new year!    HERB SLOANE
