In response to the m-20 oil separator, my coupe came equipped with a similar device when I bought her. Previous owner put the upper 90% of a coke can under the outlet of the breather tube. The tube goes down into the can about 1 inch. The can has a couple of holes on one side, which allow it to be wire-tied to the front strut. Any oil that blows out of the breather collects in the can. I would be hesitant to pour it back into the engine, but it does keep it from streaking down the belly of the plane. And, I can purchase a lot of oil for the cost of the M-20. By the way, the cost of this conversion? Under one dollar. Add to this the fact that my extraordinary AE didn't blink an eye at it.
