Bob; The vibration was there when I first flew the airplane. I did a
prepurchase inspection for the owner, which included a compression check.
The
engine was overhauled by Precision Engines in Miami, FL over two years
ago.
When I looked under the cowl, I found the exhaust pipes clamped directly
to
the engine mounts, so I figured that was the problem. Proper support
reduced
the problem, but you all are right, it is in an Alon.
I have an O-200 in my Coupe, and it does not vibrate at any certain RPM
range, so I figured there was something drastically wrong with this one.
>From
what you all are saying so far, it sounds like my application of a yellow
arc
from 1800 to 2150 was the right answer.
Yup, Jolly, the compression is good, however, I am suspect somewhat of the

engine overhaul because I found all the ring gaps on the bottom of the
piston
on # 3 cylinder. If those experts did that, I wonder what else they may
have
done wrong.
Warren, are you saying that maybe I need to loosen the engine mounts a
tad?
Thanks everyone.
